I joined the company in 1955 after returning to Atlanta from service as an officer in the Air Force. My Dad and I worked together in the early years building warehouses until he retired in 1962. At that time, I formed my own company and saw an opportunity to buy strategically located shopping centers in desperate need of tender loving care.

Over the years, my company’s portfolio has grown to 62 properties. The Malon D. Mimms Company currently has over 5,000,000 square feet of property with centers located in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
